Reflections of a Contender

Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Colossians 3:16

Colossians 3:16 strikes richly at the heart of these pages. This site is dedicated to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Without Him, nothing would be possible. The first thing that I would like to do is thank Him for the best gift that I could ever receive -- eternal salvation. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Then I would like to thank Him for another gift I have, and that is the ability to write poems. I have always had to passion to write. Now, I just want to use this passion to glorify Jesus Christ.

Hopefully, what you will find is a genuine effort to glorify Him. I do not do this to bring attention to myself. It is not I who can save or heal. My goal is to spread the Good News to the unsaved and to encourage my fellow Christians through the art of poetry. I tried to write before I got saved and came up with a few things, but most of them were forgettable. The difference now is that I want to glorify my Lord and King. Does this mean that everything that you read on these pages are soundly and doctrinely correct? The answer to that is no. I would never profess to know everything. The funny thing is that before I got saved, I did think that I knew everything. Boy, was I ever wrong!

I would be remiss if I didn't mention my wife, Ingrid. Without her undying encouragement and support, I would not have gotten this far. Her chosen profession is an English teacher. Looking at our relationship, I can see the hand of God in it. He knew that I would need help with the grammar part of this ministry. Let's just say that English was not my favorite subject in school. She keeps telling me that I'm dangling my participles. (I hate it when I do that!) It's always better when you have someone to share the victories with.

The joy that I am experiencing in writing poems is almost beyond belief. The credit has to go to the Lord. Only He can cause something like this to happen. Enjoy!

Love in Christ,
